Model horses completed by The Studio at Merrie-Meade Farm are custom painted to your specifications using high quality hand painted oils, with airbrushed & hand painted acrylics, pure pigments, and colored pencils for further detailing.

Solid color true 1:9 Traditional scale commissions start at $395

Patterned color 1:9 Traditional scale commissions start at $500

Solid color 1:12 Classic scale commissions start at $300

Patterned color 1:12 Classic scale commissions start at $385

Solid color Curio scale commissions are $250

Patterned color Curio scale commissions start at $300

Solid color 1:32 Stablemate scale commissions are $195

Patterned color 1:32 Stablemate scale commissions are start at $265

+ solid colors [NO dapples] are defined as: any body color with shading, as well as any facial markings, and leg markings that do not to extend past knees/hocks

+ solid colors [WITH dapples] are defined as: any body color (other than grey) with shading AND dapples, as well as any facial markings, and leg markings that do not to extend past knees/hocks

+ minimal dappled grey is defined as: any grey shade with light/minimal dappling, light flea-bites ok, facial markings, and leg markings that do not to extend past knees/hocks

+ dappled grey is defined as: any grey shade with more extensive/full body dappling, flea-bites, facial markings, and leg markings that do not to extend past knees/hocks

+ roan is defined as: standard or rabicano roans, includes dapples (regular or reverse), as well as any facial markings, and leg markings that do not to extend past knees/hocks

+ minimal white patterns are defined as: base coat color with or without dapples [no grey or roan], extended leg markings, some white on body (think minimal tobiano/overos, small-blanket pattern appaloosas, body spotting)

+ moderate white patterns are defined as: base coat color with or without dapples [no grey or roan], moderate white amounts (think classic tobianos, moderate frame overos, blanket pattern appaloosas with blankets not extending past barrel/no extensive additional roaning)

+ extreme white patterns are defined as: any base body color (including roan and dapple grey) with shading and dapples if desired, large amounts of white (think crazy tovero patterns, extreme frame overos, leopard or semi-leopard appaloosas, sabinos with lots of roaning and lacey whites)

+ oversized Traditional scale models are subject to an additional $65 + charge for solid colors, and up to $150 for patterned colors (examples of oversized models - Equus Maximus, Deputed Duke, Remus, Eberl Trakehner, etc...)

+ basic (seam removal, logo removal, minor pin hole filling) and more extensive (ie. second quality casts - sprue removal, bubble filling, massive seam removal, minor resculpting, etc) prepping is offered separately

+ the model "body" is not included, though I can assist you in finding one to suit your needs at cost.

+ I DO NOT send in progress photos or unsolicited updates. However, you are welcome to email me at merriemeadefarm@gmail.com to periodically check in.

Your spot is not considered "booked" until your deposit is received, and [if applicable] work will not begin until the prepping fee has been paid.

+ deposits and prepping fees should be paid directly through the shop at https://www.aedionnephoto.com/model-horse-commissions

2026 Specifics

+ Accepting solid (includes dapples) colors, as well as a few very limited spots for dapple grey/roan/pinto/appaloosas

+ starting November 2025 models for 2026 bookings can be shipped anytime after purchasing your spot 

+ please email all ideas/reference photos to merriemeadefarm@gmail.com after booking your spot

+ At this point, specific turn around times are not being offered - depending on the color/pattern, scale, time received, and number of models sent, time to completion could be anywhere from a month to a year
